Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile. This is a practical rug deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as "Persian Variant," is exceptionally durable, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for excellent temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their superior durability.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel. Afterward, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

If you request it, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
