Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are handwoven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant feel containing plenty of natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be hung on walls as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dirt and dust along the nap of the rug.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
As these are handwoven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and variations in dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request

The pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery if you request it.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
