Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, handwoven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft texture with high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, handwoven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a feel that doesn't convey heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a handwoven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a unique scent from the wool dyes.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed upon shipment

The tassels located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
