Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their way of life, made from vegetable-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils that help regulate body temperature.

Daily care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
