Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is soft to the touch and contains a lot of oil to help with temperature regulation, as well as excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains.
The Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven one thread at a time by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool sensation.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh just for you, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dye used on the wool.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
