Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is due to its high oil content, which helps with temperature regulation. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar cloth. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
