Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
