Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its high oil content makes it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, handcrafted by Iranian nomads with this naturally dyed wool, one thread at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting outstanding durability. Born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
