Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd sheep in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are deeply rooted in daily life, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
