Gabbeh rugs are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
