Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content that helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who carefully hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, is also characterized by being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever, one that is uniquely yours?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
