Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, featuring long piles made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel due to its high lanolin content, which helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from the extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool.
Please be aware that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
