Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. These Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, thread by thread, using natural dyes, are characterized by their soft and pleasant texture. Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh, created from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer. And, above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created by the nomads are imaginative and often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on a wall. Why not find a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time, your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and allow it to dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
