Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a wet cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
