Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product, born from the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to help with temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with large temperature swings between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
