Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Varied wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to the high fat content that helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being alike; each is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern, weave irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request for shipping
The pompoms attached to the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon your request.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
