Characteristics of Hand-woven Persian Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture due to its high lanolin content, which helps regulate body temperature.

The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and the Gabbeh rugs, meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.

For noticeable stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
