This is a common doormat size in Japan.
It brightens up your entryway, which you pass through every day.
In addition to entryways, it's a versatile size that can be easily placed in empty spaces such as washrooms, in front of balconies, or next to beds.
This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads. While it takes more effort to weave, it is a Luri-baft Gabbeh, which means it is thinner and has a denser weave than regular Gabbehs.
Luri means "fine" and baft means "weave" in Persian.

Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
The Gabbehs, made by these Iranian nomads who dye the wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbehs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbehs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbehs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique and original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for many years to come?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
