This is a common Japanese doormat size. It will brighten up your entryway, which you pass through every day. In addition to entryways, it's a size that's easy to place in empty spaces such as in front of sinks, on balconies, or next to beds. This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and because it takes more effort to weave, it is a Luri-baft Gabbeh, which is thinner and has a tighter weave than regular Gabbehs. "Luri" means "fine" and "baft" means "weave" in Persian.

Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them from vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
