Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, woven individually and meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are known for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, of course, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, crafted from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as a piece of art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
If cleaning is needed: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dye used on the wool.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish for the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
