The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, and it has a natural matrix pattern where turquoise and stone are mixed. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the stone enhances the blue of the turquoise.

This is an original design unique to our store, created by Mr. Javaheri, a famous Iranian engraver. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the reign of King Pahlavi. While lecturing at the Tehran University of Art, he produced jewelry for our store from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance the beauty of the turquoise. The back of each turquoise stone is individually engraved with gold, matching the shape of the stone.

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is a vibrant, deep sky blue, often called the "color of spring sky," and is a high-quality stone with high hardness. In fact, it was the first stone ever used by humans as an amulet for warding off evil.

In Persia, it was cherished as a royal family stone for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
In addition to Iran, the best quality producing region, turquoise of varying qualities is produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. Many turquoise stones from Arizona, USA, are brought to Japan, but this Persian "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its drastic decrease in production in recent years, making it very valuable.
