The turquoise used in this accessory is called "Shajar" and has a natural matrix pattern where turquoise and rock are mixed. "Shajar" means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the rock enhances the blue color of the turquoise. This is a one-of-a-kind original design by our shop, crafted by Mr. Javaheri, a renowned Iranian engraver. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi King's era. While teaching at the Tehran University of Art, he produced our jewelry from 1990 to 2007. His delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise, further enhance the stone's beauty. The back of each turquoise is individually engraved with gold, matching the stone's unique shape.

Features of Persian Natural Firuzeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, originally mined in Persia (Iran), was brought to Europe via Turkey, which is how the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality, with a vivid, deep sky blue color often described as "the color of the spring sky," and high hardness. In fact, it was the first stone ever used by humankind as an amulet for warding off evil.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality source, turquoise of varying quality is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. Many American Arizona turquoise stones are brought into Japan, but this Persian "Firuzeh" (turquoise) is rarely introduced due to its rarity and drastically decreased production in recent years.
