The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, and it has a natural matrix pattern where turquoise and rock are mixed. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the rock enhances the blue of the turquoise.
This is a classic jewelry design that elegantly captures the charm of Persia. The back is also meticulously and beautifully engraved to match the shape of the turquoise.

This is a one-of-a-kind original design by our store, crafted by the famous Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While lecturing at the Tehran University of Art, he created jewelry for our store from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the individuality of each turquoise stone, further enhance its charm. The back of each turquoise stone is individually engraved with gold to match its unique shape.

Features of Persian Natural Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality, known for its high hardness and vivid, deep sky blue color, often called "the color of spring sky." In fact, this was the first stone used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished by the royal family for many years, and this "Persian blue" was highly valued during the Victorian era. Besides Iran, which is the best quality producing region, turquoise of varying qualities is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other countries. While much American Arizona turquoise is imported into Japan, this Persian "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its drastically decreasing output in recent years, making it very precious.
