This is an original design, one-of-a-kind piece by Mr. Javaheri, a famous Iranian engraver. Mr. Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the reign of the Pahlavi king. While teaching at Tehran University of Art, he produced our store's jewelry from 1990 to 2007. The delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhance the charm of the turquoise. The back of each turquoise stone is individually hand-engraved in gold to match its shape.

Characteristics of Persian Natural Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, once mined in Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is a vivid, deep sky blue color, known as "the color of spring skies," and is a high-hardness, top-quality stone. In fact, it was the first stone used by humankind as an amulet for protection.

In Persia, it was cherished by the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality producing region, turquoise of varying quality is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. Many turquoise stones from Arizona, USA, are brought into Japan, but this Persian "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its drastically decreased output in recent years, making it very valuable.
