This is a one-of-a-kind original design from our shop, created by the renowned Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi monarchy. While lecturing at Tehran University of Art, he crafted jewelry for our shop from 1990 to 2007. His delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise, further enhance its allure. The back of each turquoise stone is individually engraved in gold to match the stone's shape.

Features of Persian Natural Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), traveled to Europe via Turkey, which is where its name, meaning "Turkish," originated. Persian turquoise is known for its vivid, deep sky-blue color, often called "the color of spring skies," and is a high-quality, hard stone. In fact, it was the first stone used by humanity as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished as a royal family stone for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best source, turquoise is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places, with varying qualities. While much of the turquoise imported into Japan comes from Arizona, USA, the Persian "Firoozeh" (turquoise) is rarely introduced due to its drastically decreasing yield in recent years, making it a valuable gem.
