The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, which has a natural matrix pattern where the turquoise and other stones are intertwined. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the stone enhances the blue color of the turquoise.

This is an original design, one-of-a-kind piece created by the renowned Iranian engraver, Mr. Javaheri, exclusively for our store. Mr. Leather Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While also lecturing at Tehran University of Art, he crafted our store's jewelry from 1990 to 2007. The delicate design, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise, further enhances the stone's appeal. The back of each turquoise is individually engraved with gold to match the stone's shape.

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), was brought to Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality, with a vivid, deep sky-blue color often described as "the color of the spring sky," and high hardness. In fact, it was the first stone used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished by the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best source, turquoise of varying quality is also found in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. Many turquoise pieces from Arizona, USA, are brought into Japan, but Persian "Firoozeh" (turquoise) is rarely introduced due to its dwindling production and rarity in recent years.
