Characteristics of Natural Persian Firuze (Turquoise) Jewelry
This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), was brought to Europe via Turkey, which is how the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality with high hardness, boasting a vivid, deep sky-blue color, often called "the color of spring sky." In fact, it was the first stone used by humankind as an amulet for protection.
In Persia, it was beloved by the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best source, turquoise of varying qualities is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other countries. While much turquoise from Arizona, USA, is imported into Japan, Persian "firuze" (turquoise) is rarely introduced due to its dwindling production in recent years, making it very valuable.
Enjoy the unique vibrant, gentle sky-blue, Persian blue, of natural Persian turquoise, which is said to be "the color of spring sky" and blends well with any skin tone.
