If you spill drinks, immediately absorb the liquid with absorbent material (such as kitchen paper or tissue) and then wipe with a damp cloth.
If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar item firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
