Characteristics of the Region (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, part of Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are called "Suzani" or "Silky Pichi" and the city is registered with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a kilim production center.
Sirjan kilims are characterized by their extremely dense and sturdy weave. Nomadic women weave these without a pattern, based purely on imagination, making their delicacy and intricacy astonishing. They are made with soumak weave, have very little fluff on the surface, and often feature animal and geometric patterns.
Furthermore, Sirjan kilims often have deep colors, with red dyes extracted from cherries, blue from eggplant skins, yellow from saffron, green from walnut leaves, and brown from walnut husks or tobacco. Due to these characteristics, Sirjan kilims are highly regarded worldwide and cherished as beautiful handicrafts.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become more characterful with age. Depending on the era they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are wool, but some kilims made with cotton or silk are also produced. Natural materials are used. Natural dyes are also used for dyeing, so you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups inhabit the vast land of Iran. Designs and color characteristics differ by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings but also as decorative items on walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interior elements. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often used as accents in rooms. Kilims are not just decorative items; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the space. By utilizing kilims, you can create a life with art and a comfortable life, and enjoy living surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interiors

Kilims offer great flexibility and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural and Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, and natural materials can enhance the warmth and natural atmosphere of the kilim. They also blend well with a bohemian ambiance; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the entire room's atmosphere. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal feel, making them suitable for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and other regions. Placing them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If concerned about stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Note

As these are hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
