Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed sheep's wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their fluffiness and pleasant feel, woven by Iranian nomads one by one with wool dyed with natural dyes.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, making it exceptionally durable.
Born from a climate with large temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created imaginatively by nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing irregularities, etc. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
The smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
