Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, grass-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who graze their flocks in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from the climate with large temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created imaginatively by nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but can also be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time, your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar. Then carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving unevenness, dye unevenness, etc. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur.
The scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
