Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its high oil content makes it soft to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbehs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads one strand at a time using natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbehs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a cool sensation. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbehs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with no two alike, making each a unique, one-of-a-kind item. They can be used not only as floor coverings but also as art to adorn walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap of the rug. For気になる汚れの場合:中性洗剤(毛・絹用)を水で薄め、かたく絞ったタオル等で表面を優しく拭いてください。その後丁寧に水拭きして、洗剤を拭きとってから風通しの良い日陰で乾かしてください。 stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then allow it to dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
