Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, vegetable-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variat wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may occur. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
