Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using naturally dyed wool. The "Persia Variant" wool used in this product boasts excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content that allows for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, handwoven piece by piece with care by Iranian nomads using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, showcasing their superior durability.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for many years to come?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of handwoven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dyes may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
