Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to the high oil content that helps with temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven one by one with care by Iranian nomads after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shady area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
