Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with significant day-night temperature differences, are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique original, with no two being alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can enjoy for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are handwoven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of handwoven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
