Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool while nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its soft and pleasant texture containing a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on walls as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
