Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-feeling texture contains a lot of oil, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, made by natural dyeing of this wool and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, is characterized by its plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, making it feel less hot.
And above all, its artistry. Gabbeh, created by the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
