Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the handmade nature of these rugs, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, we can remove the pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh before shipping. Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
