Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a high oil content, which contributes to its excellent durability and ability to regulate body temperature, essential for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
