Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If you are concerned about stains: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool. This odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
