Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is exceptionally durable, allowing the sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oil, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture that effectively regulates body temperature.
The Gabbeh, hand-woven thread by thread with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, is characterized by its plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are so artistic that they can be displayed on a wall as art, in addition to being placed on the floor.
