Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, handwoven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variat wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and delightful feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a Gabbeh rug that you can enjoy for a long time, your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of handwoven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms located on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping if requested.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
