Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in hot weather.
And, above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, crafted from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, original creation.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as a work of art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung cloth. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to the handmade nature, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

If requested, we can remove the pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
