Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh is a hand-woven, long-pile rug made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and has a soft, pleasant texture with abundant oil content for effective temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, is characterized by its soft and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often features designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
It can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time, a special one just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If you are concerned about stains: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Precautions
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used for the wool may occur.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
