Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, natural dye, wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to the high oil content that helps with body temperature regulation. These wools are dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads, resulting in Gabbeh rugs that are wonderfully soft and plush. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
