Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, grass-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic people in Iran's Zagros Mountains, and are deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads from naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also known for being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find a Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever, a special one just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like your Gabbeh shipped without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
