Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create a long-pile rug deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant feel.
Gabbeh rugs, with their wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knotted by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall, not just on the floor.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or cloth. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-knotted, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before shipping upon request.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
