Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create a long-pile rug deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, with their wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their soft and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
