Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, and are deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to their hand-woven nature, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
